Her experience in technology and marketing dates back decades. Before the Internet went mainstream, Marie operated a computerized industrial equipment dealership in Montréal. To reach prospects in a vast territory, the focus was on high-touch, high frequency proven marketing strategies, technology and systems to get the word out, and to position herself and her company as experts in the field.
Consistent implementation and refinement of this marketing system helped the business grow into 7 figures in yearly sales.
It Started With Traditional Marketing
This included putting on seminars, doing direct marketing, publishing newsletters, participating in trade shows, as well as holding leadership roles in local business networking groups.
Marie’s involvement with AFAQ (Québec Business Women’s Association) led her to operate a BBS for local business women. This served as an online meeting and networking place for participants to collaborate in business. Essentially, what forums and social media are today.
The Internet Goes Mainstream
In later years she continued to provide sales and marketing services in the varied fields of high tech, professional services, and telecom where the Internet became part of the process at organizations such as IHS and KPMG, global billion dollar corporations.
Coaching, Training, and Teaching
Coaching, Training, and Teaching is a recurring theme in Marie’s business life and personal life as well. She’s always been teaching something to someone, and by doing so has been able to learn as much, if not more in the process.
She’s taught everything from French as a second language, to business start-up, to computers & software, and even skydiving!
Marie has spent numerous hours teaching others how to experience the thrill of a first parachute jump, and for those hardy enough to continue, freefall. She has taught over 1,000 students in class, and personally dispatched over 400. (Seriously, that’s a lot of people…)
And not a single refusal in the bunch!
